Thrift store finds!

This weekend I was at my favorite thrift store and found some great stuff for my remodeled laundry room.  I went looking for a bookcase for a storage room and found a great bookshelf for the laundry room.  With my farmish look to my laundry room a picket fence bookshelf works great.  Although now I have to find nicer looking bottles and containers for all the things that need to go on the shelf.  I also found an herb drying rack two perfect chicken plaques.

As a side note I have found that just over half of our furniture was second hand buys.  I love the durability that you can find second hand and the style.  They just don't seem to make furniture like they used too.

Sprouting Success!

I can now add mung beans and garbonzo beans to my sprouting abilities.  I want to make stir fry with the mung beans.  Can't wait to try them.  Not sure what we will do with the garbanzos but I am sure we can find something.

Sprouting sprouts

Sprouting has been giving great for the last year as long as I stick with lentils, alfalfa, radishes, and broccoli.  I have tried chia, an utter fail.  Red clover had a very low sprouting percentage.  We have replaced the lettuce in our sandwiches with sprouts.  We eat them as snacks.  I have also started hiding them in cooking and although funny when you find them they don't seem to change the taste of the meal.  They are definately helping us get more veggies in our lives.
